London Zoo is the oldest zoo in the world. The Garden opened on April 27, 1828. At first, the animals in the park were the research objects of scientists; later, it was opened to the public in 1847. Now it has 755 animal species in the UK, including 16802 individuals, the largest collection in the UK. Managed by the Zoological Society of London established in 1826, the park is located in the north of Regent's Park and crossed by the Regent canal, covering 36 acres.
